The Leadership Fellows Program begins with an intensive seminar in the week of January 7-11, 2019. Participants will learn from nationally recognized experts on the major challenges facing community colleges and strategies for effective faculty leadership. These exemplary leaders include current and former college presidents, as well as prominent experts in the field of higher education. Past guests have included Cathy Davidson, Sara Goldrick-Rab, Lindsey Malcom-Piqueux, and Monica Worline. For the 2019 line up, see the January Seminar page.
A series of workshops will follow throughout spring semester focusing on such topics as mentoring and coaching, planning for student success, dealing with conflict, understanding and using data in decision-making, advancing equity, and effective communications.
The week long seminar in January was intensive and so powerful. The follow-up sessions during the spring semester reinforced the work of the seminar. My connection to faculty in my cohort and to members of the administration supports my continued endeavors to promote success for our students and to build a community where we all can thrive.
